This is the second in the Figurative series of Bronze sculptures concieved in the period from 1993 through 1994. It's been shown in various galleries and exhibitions from California to Montana and recieved some very positive reviews. The inspiration for this piece came from a series of events much too personal to write down in such a public forum, but let's just say that it was a time when things were more positive than usual. It's somewhat of a self portrait capturing that time. It was originally carved from a piece of Virgin Old Growth Redwood Heartwood taken from a 1600 year old tree that had been blown over by a small tornado in the early part of 1978 here in this little valley. A mold was taken of that, and a plaster master was cast, which was finished up to the polish needed to translate the sculpture into Bronze. Another mold was made of this Master, but due to an adverse chemical reaction, the Master was lost in the process, but the mold was good, and so this Limited Edition was born. of 470 pieces available for $100 each. Bases are not included due to people's personal taste, but are available at $50 for a wooden base, and $100 for a Black Granite base. A Certificate of Authenticity and a Transfer of Original Artworks accompanies each piece.
