For about a three year period in the early 90's I concentrated on Small Scale Metals and Jewelry for a number of reasons. The finesse and quality of work one can achieve on that small of a scale is a magic thing to me. Jewelry was a vehicle for me. The workability of the waxes we use, the detail that is achievable, and the way silver can be sculpted through casting, fabrication, forging, and creative welding and filing, was what really intrigued me. The jewelry part meant that it had to cross over from a pure art to a functional art with specific parameters concerning practicality, size, shape, weight, and form. Working within those boundaries, I found that I could have some fun, meet some real challenges, and come up with a few things that are worth sharing. Here and there I make a few pieces on a regular basis, but most of my work in the last few years has been custom jewelry, and I enjoy doing that a lot due to the personal connection with the people that desire what I create. Getting all the pictures and pages for each piece will take awhile, but it is an ongoing project, so check in here from time to time.
